Seks

Every woman experiences sex in pregnancy in a different way. Where one woman has little or no need for sex, the libido of another can rise to unprecedented heights.

LIBIDO

Due to the many changes in the body, women often have less sex drive in the first trimester. This is mainly due to the fatigue and nausea. As soon as the second trimester starts and the first ailments have passed, the sex drive usually increases again. This is because most women feel a lot more energetic during this period, but also because the blood flow to the genitals is better than before. In the last trimester, the big belly can be a hindering factor in your sex life. Different positions can help with this, so be creative!

DANGEROUS?

Sex during pregnancy is not dangerous! The baby is safe in a closed uterus and membranes so that he/she cannot be hit during penetration. During an orgasm, the uterus will contract slightly. Some women get a hard stomach because of this. This is not a bad thing and will subside after some time. The baby is also not hindered when the uterus contracts a bit after an orgasm.

WHEN TO AVOID

At a number of moments, it is not recommended to have sex with each other, namely with:

  • Broken membranes
  • Premature contractions (before 37 weeks)
  • Blood loss
