Lactation expert

A lactation expert is the specialist for professional guidance on breastfeeding. A lactation expert can offer support before and during the breastfeeding period by giving (telephone) advice and/or consultations (at the practice or at home). Examples of this may be: breastfeeding problems in the postpartum period, feeding problems of the child (both at the breast and when drinking from a bottle) or for a plan of approach for the next breastfeeding period if the first period did not go well.
