Our clients are dear to us. Only the highest quality of care is good enough. That's why PUUR geboortecentrum meets all the quality requirements and quality marks that are imposed on obstetric and maternity care practices. An overview can be found on this page. We are also members of the branch organisations KNOV for midwives and BO Geboortezorg for maternity care organisations.

HKZ/ISO 9001

PUUR Kraamzorg, the maternity care agency of PUUR, is HKZ/ISO 9001 certified. This certification means we meet all requirements set by the sector, health insurers, clients and the government. The certificate is reviewed annually by an independent certification body.

HEALTH INSURANCE COMPANIES

Because PUUR Birth Centre meets all requirements set by health insurers for a midwife practice and a maternity care bureau, we have set up contracts with all the health insurers in the Netherlands. Obstetric care and maternity care are reimbursed from the basic insurance package. For maternity care a statutory personal contribution applies.

BIG REGISTER

With the BIG-register, the government secures the minimum level of knowledge and skills that may be expected from a healthcare professional. By being registered in the BIG-register, an obstetrician is authorised to practise her profession. The requirement for (re-)registration is that she keeps her expertise and skills up to date.

QUALITY REGISTER FOR MIDWIVES

Registration in the Quality Register for Midwives indicates that the midwife is active and has invested, during an agreed period, in the acquisition of knowledge and skills by taking training courses and refresher courses.
All the midwives at PUUR geboortecentrum are registered in the Quality Register for Midwives.

ULTRASOUND REGISTER

KNOV ULTRASOUND REGISTER

The Royal Organisation of Obstetricians (KNOV) has an ultrasound register. Ultrasound technicians who are registered in this register meet the (training) requirements for performing ultrasounds. PUUR ultrasound technicians are qualified to perform first-line ultrasound scans and Structural Ultrasound Examination (SEO).

BEN QUALITY REGISTER

The BEN (Beroepsvereniging Echoscopisten Nederland) maintains a quality register. Ultrasound technicians who are registered in this register meet the (educational) requirements to perform ultrasound scans. PUUR ultrasound technicians are qualified to perform first line ultrasound scans and Structural Ultrasound Examination (SEO). (Re)registration takes place every 2 years.

VERSION REGISTER

The Royal Organisation of Obstetricians (KNOV) maintains a version register. The version register allows the midwife to state that she is competent to perform an external version in a breech presentation. The register guarantees the quality of care.

COMPLAINT HANDLING

PUUR strives to provide optimal care. Partly thanks to the feedback from our clients, we can maintain our high level of care, and improve it if necessary. Should it happen that you are not (entirely) satisfied with our care, we ask you to let us know directly. Hopefully we can resolve your dissatisfaction through a good conversation. If a conversation is not possible, or if a conversation does not solve the problem, you can do the following:

OBSTETRICS

You can contact the complaints officer of CBKZ (Centraal Bureau Klachtenmanagement in de Zorg = Central Bureau of Complaint Handling in Care). You can report your complaint directly via the Obstetrics Complaints Form.

MATERNITY CARE

You can submit your complaint to the Complaints Committee of BO Geboortezorg (Complaints procedure for maternity care).

LACTATION EXPERT

If you feel that the lactation expert IBCLC is not dealing with you or your data in the proper manner, you should first make this known to her/him. Should you still wish to submit a complaint, we refer you to the website of the Dutch Association of Lactation Experts for more information about our complaints committee.

It is also possible to present your complaint to an Independent Mediator.
