Incubator aftercare

If your baby must stay in hospital for more than 10 days after birth, you can make use of incubator aftercare or postponed maternity care. PUUR can also provide this care.

DELAYED MATERNITY CARE

The incubator aftercare or postponed maternity care is different from regular maternity care. This aftercare is mainly meant to give you some more confidence after your baby comes home. The maternity nurse comes for a few hours a day, just for a few days. She will give you tips and advice on how to take care of your baby at home. Although you may have learned to do a lot yourself in hospital, things are different at home. During the delayed maternity care, the maternity nurse will not do any household chores.

REIMBURSEMENT

The reimbursement for incubator aftercare depends on your health insurance. Not all insurance policies cover this care. It is therefore wise to find out and apply for this before your baby comes home.
