Paracetamol

ONLY PARACETAMOL IS SAFE

A paracetamol now and again for minor complaints during pregnancy, or during childbirth, does not hurt. In fact, paracetamol is the only pain reliever that you can use absolutely safely when you are pregnant. You can even take 3000 mg per day. These are 6 tablets of 500 mg. It is best to take two tablets immediately with the first dose. You can then divide the remaining four over the rest of the day: either 2 tablets twice, or 1 tablet four times.

OTHER PAIN KILLERS

Other painkillers such as ibuprofen, aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid) are not recommended. You are also not allowed to use the tablets where paracetamol is combined with codeine or caffeine.

TIPS

Sometimes it can help if you are very tired or have a lot of pelvic pain to take 2 paracetamols before going to sleep, combined with a warm shower. With long-term use, it is better to go to your doctor or midwife with the complaints to investigate the cause of the complaints and find another solution.
