Nosebleed
It is easier to get a nosebleed. When blowing, sneezing, bumping or going from a cold environment to a warm one, you can get a hefty spontaneous nosebleed. You can also get a spontaneous nosebleed when you have a cold.
CAUSE
A nosebleed is caused by a broken blood vessel. During pregnancy, the hormones estrogen and progesterone increase the blood flow to the mucous membranes. The walls of the small blood vessels in your nose lie more on the surface than normal and are also somewhat thinner. This can make it easier to get a nosebleed.
TIPS
- Drink plenty of water
- Blow your nose carefully
- Provide sufficient vitamin C in your daily diet. You do this by eating lots of fruits and vegetables. Vitamin C provides stronger blood vessels.
