Vomiting
Your baby may have swallowed some blood or amniotic fluid during delivery. Your baby can spit this out in the first 48 hours. This can be slimy or somewhat reddish brown (old blood). If your baby seems stuffy or is gagging, hold him on his stomach over your arm and rub his back from the bottom up. That way your child can spit it out most easily. Your baby may also spit back blood if you have cracked nipples. That's okay, you can continue breastfeeding.
