HEALTH INSURANCE FOR YOUR BABY

You are obliged to register your child with your health insurance or that of your partner within 4 months after the birth. If you do not do this on time, any costs incurred during that period for your child will be on your own account.
Children under the age of 18 do not have to pay a premium for health insurance. This is paid for by the government.

You can often register with your health insurance online or by telephone, but you do need your child 's citizen service number (BSN).
