It is important that your doctor is aware of the birth of your baby. Let him/her know by telephone or bring the birth report (which you will receive from us in the first week) to the practice. Some GPs come on maternity visits. We are medically responsible for your maternity bed until approximately the 10th day after delivery. This is when the GP takes over care again.
