Stop contraception

PILL

After you stop the pill, the hormone levels in your blood will return to normal again after just a few days, which means that then your own cycle will start again. Usually, women ovulate within 2 to 4 weeks after stopping the pill, so then you are fertile again.

NUVARING, CONTRACEPTIVE PLASTER OR STICK

If you stop taking one of these drugs, your hormone levels (just like with the pill) will quickly return to normal and your own cycle will start again.

IUD

If you have your IUD removed, you will immediately be fertile again. A coil has little influence on your cycle. You will simply have your period again at your usual time, normally two weeks after your ovulation.

CONTRACEPTIVE INJECTION

It is only different with a contraceptive injection. These hormones can remain in your body for several months (sometimes up to a year) after the injection and inhibit your period. So it can take a little longer before your cycle has recovered and you can become pregnant.
