Make sure you have a maternity package at home from the 37th week. The maternity package contains medical supplies for childbirth and the maternity period. You can request a free maternity package from a number of insurance policies. If you don't get it from your insurance, you can purchase it yourself. This is available at the Thuiszorgwinkel, pharmacy or Prenatal.

What should be included in the maternity package:

  • Cotton wool
  • Two boxes of sterile gauze
  • Ten large gauzes (10x10cm)
  • Bottle of alcohol 70%
  • Two packs of maternity bandages
  • Plastic sheet/mattress protector
  • Cellulose mats (10 to 15 pieces)
  • Belly button clamp
  • Home care store
