ScarCare: Caesarean Section Scar Treatment

A c-section is a big procedure, regardless of whether it is planned or not. Many layers in the abdomen are cut and it is often a long recovery. Many women wonder how to deal with the scar or/and have complaints such as:

  • Pain
  • Itch
  • Sensitivity
  • Numbness
  • Redness
  • Swelling
  • Pulling sensations
  • A 'flap' above your scar
  • Adhesion (hardness under/around the scar)
  • Reduced mobility or stiffness in your body due to your scar

We can do something about that!

Starting from 6 weeks after the c-section, we can treat your complaints using cupping, taping, heating and (connective tissue) massage techniques. Skin-improving oils are used, adapted to your specific needs. Even if you have no complaints, we can stimulate the healing process, prevent adhesions, make the scar less visible, and give you exercises to do at home.

Who

Belinda is a midwife and expert by experience. During her training at the Midwifery Academy, she attended several c-sections and assisted in some. She also had an unplanned c-section herself. This means that she knows the challenges of a c-section and the recovery process like no other. That is also why she became a ScarCare practitioner and has immersed herself in the care and support surrounding the recovery process after a c-section.
